SCHOOL INFO:

SEEK:

Foogicle Fridays:

Every Friday there will be foogicle for sale during MS and HS lunch for $1.  All proceeds go to the Ann Chapman Memorial Scholarship fund!

Seniors:

Applications for the Students Council Scholarships are available.  Please see Mary Martin.

Note:  In 2015 the Student Council gave 4 students a total of $1500 in scholarship money.  All seniors are encouraged to apply.  The scholarship is sponsored by the HS student council.  Students do not need to be Student Council members to apply.

8th Grade Parents:

8th grade homework assignments build on what has happened that day in class.  The lesson is taught and assignments are typically begun in class.  They need to be completed before the next class.  Without completed homework, students will not be as successful in the next day.  This design is intended to help 8th graders become more independent learners, a skill needed for high school.  Please check Power School daily to see what the day's homework assignment is, and ask to see your child's homework when it is completed.

Juniors & Seniors & Their Parents/Guardians:

Every week Sarah sends out an E-newsletter containing all things college and career. Many of you are on the list to receive it, but many are not! There is so much information pertaining to life after high school, this is the most effective way to communicate it to you. If you do NOT get this e-letter, please email Sarah and request to be added to the list. sgrasso@lelandandgray.org

1st Annual Lip Sync Battle!

Welcome to our first annual LIP SYNC BATTLE! The NewBrook Elementary School PTO is very excited to host this fun event and we can't wait to see all the great performances! All proceeds benefit Enrichment Programs at NewBrook Elementary School.

The link to sign up is at the bottom of this message.

BEFORE YOU SIGN UP:

1) We have 20 available time slots, with ONE performance per slot. Each time slot reflects a SIX (6) minute increment, which accounts for performance time as well as transition time between acts. So when choosing a song to perform, please pay attention to song length -- songs cannot be longer than 4 1/2 to 5 minutes (less is fine, of course).

2) Sign up is first come, first served. Deadline for signup is FRIDAY, MAY 6th.

3) Performance order will be determined by contest organizers. Each performer/group will receive an informational sheet, including approximate performance time, prior toFriday's event. Please expect younger children to be scheduled earlier in the evening and older children/adults in the later half.

4) Performances can be a "solo act" or as a group.

5) When you sign up for a time slot, you will be asked to provide your song choice. This is REQUIRED in order to receive your time slot. About song choices:
-Songs MUST BE available through itunes.
-Only songs with clean lyrics and appropriate content/messaging are allowed.
-Organizers have the right to deny a song choice if they deem it inappropriate. If your song choice is not accepted, you will have the opportunity to choose a different song.

6) When you sign up, you should see an option to click a box in order to include a different name. If sign-ups are coming through a parent's email address, please make sure to click this box to include the child's name that is performing. We will follow up asking for any additional information we will need regarding the group.

7) If you have any questions, please contact Brandy Levesque (brandylevesque@gmail.com) or Ariel Redden (ariel.redden@gmail.com).

8) See you on May 13th!
