SCHOOL INFO:

Mongolian Performance:

Everyone is welcome to the amazing Mongolian performance on Saturday at 7:00 P.M. You've seen them around the school and many of you have collaborated with them in Chorus and Band; their performance is truly a feast for the eyes and ears with fabulous costumes, beautiful choreography and incredible musicianship. Their performances at SUNY Albany, Otter Valley High School and Freeport Maine Performing Arts Center, as well as the workshops provided for high school and college students at Amherst, MA High School and College have thrilled audiences and workshop participants.

There will be exciting collaboration with LG choral and instrumental students as they sing a Mongolian song together and perform Duke Ellington's famous jazz piece, "Take the A Train."

Save The Date! Spamalot:

Leland and Gray Players’ first show of its twenty-first season is Eric Idle’s Spamalot. Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy "Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of showgirls -- not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people.  Spamalot is a rollicking musical comedy. Spamalot boasts a large cast from many grade levels.

Spamalot takes place in Leland and Gray’s historic Dutton Gymnasium:
Thursday, November 10 at 7pm
Friday, November 11 at 7:30 pm;
Saturday, November 12 at 3pm and 7:30
Sunday, November13 at 3pm .

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and 62+.
All refreshments and delicacies are by donation.
For more information or to reserve in advance, contact Annie Landenberger at 802-365-7355 x 204 or alandenberger@lelandandgray.org.

Women Can Do!:

On Thursday, October 14, 2016 five students (Madison Russ, Kylee Taylor, Nastia Stevens, Brittney Clark, and Star Polnack) accompanied chaperones Sue Jones and Michele Monks-Manton to the 18th annual Women Can Do conference, at Vermont technical College in Randolph, VT. The conference is sponsored by the Vermont Works for Women "Women Can Do is a one-day career immersion experience for 9-12th grade girls from across Vermont. It features dozens of hands-on workshops and action stations highlighting careers in the skilled trades and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields.

Hands-on workshops are led mostly by women professionals in the skilled trades or science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. At Women Can Do, girls may operate an excavator, weld, climb a fire ladder, build a robot, design a 3D model, create an online game, wield a chainsaw, extract DNA from cells, or change a tire. More than 35 workshops highlight careers in architecture and engineering, computer programming, green energy, natural resources, public safety and health, communications, trades, and other non-traditional careers for women."
