SCHOOL INFO:

Leland & Gray Players and SPAMALOT:

Casting for the L&G Players fall musical, Monty Python's Spamalot, is just about complete, but if your students missed the auditions for whatever reason, please have them see me Monday or write me, alandenberger@lelandandgray.org, as soon as possible.   There'll always be room in the ensemble for more--especially for singers and dancers.

There's now a board outside B4 for Players' news and schedules.  I'll be emailing schedules and posting them on the school calendar, too.

From the Music Department:

The next Friends of Music meeting will be September 26th at 5:30 in the music room. We will be getting ready for the Oct 14th Music Night. We need a few people to help out so that it will be as awesome as possible.
Samba band will start on Thursday, September 15th. This is a percussion/drumming group that plays funky Brazilian beats. All students are welcome to join us. Come on down to the music room and try it out.

High School Jazz band will have its first rehearsal on Thursday, September 22nd at 6:30.

To Mind the Gap*, Mind the Map:

A meeting for the new course, Mind the Map, will be held very soon.  If your student is interested but hasn't yet signed up, here's the scoop, in brief:

The course meets A block semester two and focuses on Irish and English Literature, music and art.  In April we'll take a two-week tour of the sights we'll have learned about: Each student in the class will become a pro on one of the sights and will teach us about it and guide us through it.  The trip is optional, but we encourage all in the class to join in on it.  The cost estimate now is $2800-$3000 pp. That will be firmer at the meeting.  To learn more and to be added on to the email list, write alandenberger@lelandandgray.org.

Course instructor: Ms. Landenberger
Chaperones: Ms. Landenberger and Mr. Kelley

"Mind the gap" is a popular warning in England issued to rail passengers to take caution while crossing the horizontal, and in some cases vertical, spatial gap between the train door and the station platform.
