Friday Notes 4/28/23

SCHOOL INFO

April 28, 2023

Dear L&G Families:

I hope everyone had a great vacation last week!  As April comes to a close, we truly enter the final leg of the school year.  This begins with our state-required testing of all 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th graders in ELA and math AND 8th and 11th graders in science.  While I’m sure you may have heard in the news that the roll out of the new Cognia testing protocol (replaced SBAC) hasn’t gone very well, we are hopeful that our next two weeks will be relatively smooth!  Please encourage your child to get lots of rest, eat healthy, and take the testing seriously.

Please note that students are not allowed to access their phones or personal electronic devices during testing. We kindly ask that you do not call or text your student while they are in school, but especially during the testing period from 9:00-10:15 am. This is to prevent any disruptions to the testing environment and ensure the confidentiality of tests. Students found to be using their devices during testing will have their devices confiscated and you will be asked to pick them up after school. The state may also impose further consequences on the school, even for individual student violations of this policy.

Thank you for your cooperation and support during this important time. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can view the schedules for testing days below.

SCHOOL INFO

April 14, 2023

Dear L&G Families:

I wanted to thank all of you parents and guardians for your continued support in creating a safe and healthy learning environment for your children.  The work that our staff does on a daily basis to balance the social/emotional needs of the students alongside the academic demands requires families to be on board.  This is not a one-sided endeavor.  So, as we roll into April vacation and the staff receive a well-deserved vacation, I want to thank you as well as them for the effort.  It truly takes a community to raise a child.

I hope everyone has a great vacation!

Bob Thibault
