A representative from the IT Department will also be available at this time to help answer any questions about how to access the information. If you would like to come it is recommended that you arrive with a device you would use to view Alma, this could be a laptop, cell phone, or ipad.

8th Grade History Field Trip

On Friday, December 1st, 8th Grade students in Keighan Eaker's history class will travel to Historic Deerfield in Massachusetts. This community is a well-preserved, historic town complete with a 1 room schoolhouse.  The curators of Deerfield have planned a new place-based learning experience for our kids. Our program is called POCUMTUCK HOMELANDS AND ENGLISH HOME LOTS.  In this program, students explore contrasting concepts of land held by Indigenous people and English colonists. Students will have a hands-on exercise with reproduction objects important to both Indigenous Pocumtuck people and English colonists. Permission slips and admission are due by November 30th.

Picture Retake day is Tuesday 12/5

Retake day is for new students and staff members, transfer students, or for anyone who may have missed the initial picture day, OR for anyone who was unhappy with their original picture and would like to give it another try. If a student would like the retake photo to replace the original photo, please have the student return the original picture package to the photographer on picture day. We will replace the original package at no additional cost.

If this is the first time being photographed, just have the student/staff go to the camera and we’ll create a proof for them that will be sent to the school (and/or to their family email if we have that information). These proofs will be delivered approx. 4 weeks after picture day. An order code will be on the proof along with ordering instructions.

Please take a few minutes to complete the following survey: Leland & Gray Union Middle High School Family Survey

The survey will take around ten minutes to complete. The data is confidential and run by the NEASC organization.

Mean Girls the Musical

The Leland & Gray Players invite you to back-to-school when students present the smart and ferociously funny musical Mean Girls JR. beginning November 9th in the Dutton Gymnasium at Leland & Gray Union Middle and High School. Adapted from the hit movie written by Tina Fey and starring Lindsay Lohan, Mean Girls JR. tells the story of student Cady Heron who must learn to navigate the treacherous social hierarchy of high school when her family moves to suburban Illinois from Kenya.

Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naive newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on “The Plastics,” a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady devises a plan to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a queen bee without getting stung.

Directed by Doran Hamm and Cassidy Majer with musical direction by Jeremy Kellett.
