Friday Notes 9/22/23

September 22, 2023

Hello Families,

On Tuesday we had repeated power outages which resulted in students being sent home after lunch. While this was a disruption to the day, it was a great opportunity for us to practice how we handle an emergency, as well as evaluate what our strengths and weaknesses were. Students maintained poise throughout the entire event.

Progress reports were scheduled to go out on September 25th, but the date has been changed to October 2.

Recognition for High School is a great way to end the week. Students have been asked to reduce profanity and manage their cell phones by keeping them tucked away during class time. There was a noticeable decrease in referrals to the office. Students are changing habits and it is not easy work. Student Council suggested the High School have extended lunch when they are meeting goals, so on Thursday it was an extended lunch in place of FLEX. They had access to the gym and outdoor courts; students were out and active. They did a wonderful job with this privilege!  The middle school students and staff are now starting discussions about goals and celebration opportunities.

Have a great weekend,

Dana Aquadro

Principal
