SCHOOL INFO:

Hazing, Harassment and/or Bullying:

In August you received a paper mailing which included our Policy and Procedure on the Prevention of Harassment, Hazing and Bullying of Students.  This is a reminder that the policy and procedure, as well as contact information for L&G's Designated Employees and District Equity Coordinator, are available on the L&G website and can be found here:  http://www.lelandandgray.org/index.php/students-and-parents-cols2/hazing-harassment-and-bullying

The full policy and procedure can be read here and paper copies are available from Principal Thibault by request.

If you or your student have questions, or wish to report an incident of bullying, harassment or hazing, you can contact any of the following people:
Phoebe Connolly at 802-365-7355 ext 279 or pconnolly@lelandandgray.org

Thailand Trip Fundraiser:

Directions: From the Flea Market on Route 30, turn onto Radway Hill Road. Go about ½ mile to the green bridge to Brookline. Do not cross the bridge! Instead, take a left onto Upper River Road. Our gray house with white trim is the third house on the right, after the barn.

From NHS: Project Feed The Thousands:

Project Feed the Thousands will begin the first Monday after Thanksgiving Break.
Please bring in a nonperishable food item if you can to support our local food shelf. We will have an assembly on that Monday (November 28) and the class bringing in the most food items will get Spirit Points.

From NHS: Urgent Message:

Urgent! It is getting cold! Please bring in winter coats and winter bedding in good condition. NHS will be donating them to families in our area to help them stay warm this winter.
Please bring them to Ms. L's room B4. We ask that you only bring in items that are in good condition so we don't have to throw items away. The items we receive for young children, in addition to bedding will be distributed. The items that fit students in our school will be given to the future school store.
Thanks for your donations!

Connecticut Valley Fall Music Festival:

The following students auditioned for and will be participating in the Connecticut Valley Fall Music Festival at Twin Valley High School on November 18th and 19th: Alice Coyne, Hazel Seiden, Kirsten Munson and Dakota Gervais will be in the middle school chorus; Emma Urbaska, Sarah Andersen, Veronica Stevens, Caroline Mehner, Trevor Wood, and Gabrel Vanni-Phillips will be in the high school jazz choir and Fairen Stark and Felix Judd-Wright will be in the high school concert band.

If you have not yet taken one of these exams, it is highly recommended that you do so, at least once. Either exam is accepted at all schools that require standardized testing. Save The Date! Spamalot:

Leland and Gray Players' first show of its 21st season is Eric Idle's Spamalot!
Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy "Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of showgirls -- not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people.  Spamalot is a rollicking musical comedy. Spamalot boasts a large cast from many grade levels.

Spamalot takes place in Leland and Gray’s historic Dutton Gymnasium:
Thursday, November 10 at 7pm
Friday, November 11 at 7:30 pm;
Saturday, November 12 at 3pm and 7:30
Sunday, November13 at 3pm .

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and 62+.
All refreshments and delicacies are by donation.
For more information or to reserve in advance, contact Annie Landenberger at 802-365-7355 x 204 or alandenberger@lelandandgray.org.

Announcement! New “Contests” Page on Website:

From Ms. BirgĂ© :
As literacy coach, I frequently receive announcements about contests for our students, usually around writing. These range from small local events, to national contests with hundreds of students entering.

With help from our IT department, we’ve decided to create a space on our website for these contests. We hope that this will encourage more students to compete. You can find this new page underneath the  “Students and Parents” tab.

Entering contests is a great way for your student to push themselves academically, and to connect skills they learn in school to the real world. As well, many contests have cash or other prizes, even for runners-up. Keep an eye on this new section of our website, and please encourage your student to enter some contests!
