Childcare for West River Board Meeting:
Terry Davidson Berger has arranged for Childcare for the Monday Nov 18th West River Board Meeting. It will run from 7pm to 9pm. Parents simply come to the Library and our Student will be there to provide Childcare.

L&G Players Present:
Junior Iron Chef is back!!:
If you love to cook and want to show what you know or learn more, please join Junior Iron Chef. We are an after-school club that will meet (almost) weekly between now and March. We will learn teamwork, cooking skills and recipe development. We will cook, cook and cook some more. all of this practice will culminate at a state competition in mid-March. Leland and Gray won one of the three awards last year and we will go and defend our title again. If all this sounds fun to you, please come to one of two organizational/informational meetings on Tuesday, 10/22 either during middle school or high school lunch in the Wellness Room (right near the Activity Room) See Mrs. Jones for more information.

Please remember, L&G policy requires students to check in with nurse prior to going home sick. Parents may always choose to take their student home, even if not dismissed by nurse, but will need to sign their student's out for an unexcused absence. Absences can be excused by a note from their healthcare provider.If your student has an allergy or asthma, please ensure that Nurse Lauren has an up to date plan on file, signed by your PCP.
Our first dental hygiene clinic will be taking place on Monday and Tuesday of next week (the 28th & 29th). Permission forms must be turned in to participate.

Open Gyms for Basketball:
Starting the week, there will be Open Gyms on Wednesdays for MS and HS girls interested in playing basketball and Thursdays for MS and HS Boys interested in playing basketball.
These Open Gyms will run through the last week of November.

Gerda's Equine Rescue in West Townshend is looking for volunteers! Horse lovers and non-horse lovers wanted!
We have activities from yard maintenance, cleaning, barn work, even filing in the office. Possibly for the right person assistance with video, photography and our website, or even volunteering for events.

In collaboration with Mount Snow, Northern Vermont University, and Vermont Department of Labor, the BDCC is hosting a *free* Supervisor Skills and Guest Services training on November 8th, 9th, and 10th.
The Supervisor Skills training is from 9:00am-4:00pm on November 8th and 9th, and is for individuals with experience working in Hospitality, Retail, or Small Businesses, and are looking to gain skills and experiences that will prepare them for the next big step in their careers.
The Guest Services Training is on Sunday, November 10th, from 9:00am-1:00pm, and is a great introduction to the skills needed to succeed in entry and mid-level Hospitality and Tourism careers.
Both trainings will be held at Mount Snow in Dover, Vermont. Participants will receive the exact location and further information after signing up.
Please encourage community members, students, clients, and your own workers to sign-up for this training at their earliest convenience, as space is limited. Anyone above the age of 16 is eligible to attend.

Community Coat Drive:
Community Hope & Action is sponsoring a Winter Coat Drive and Give Away on Saturday, November 16th at 5:00 in Townshend. As part of the Third Saturday Harvest Pot-luck, winter coats will be collected and anyone is welcome to come and take one or more. All sizes are welcome. To donate gently worn coats, you can drop them off at either the Townshend Town Hall on November 16th at 5:00 or you can donate before the 16th to the front porch of Cynefim Farm, 1169 Grafton Road in Townshend. The farm is located opposite the Town barn and is one mile north of the Townshend Village. Anyone who wants a coat can also drop by the farm to take a coat or attend the dinner and pick one there.
