Friday Notes 9/23/22

SCHOOL INFO

September 23, 2022

Dear L&G Families:

Apologies for not having Friday Notes last week - we had some technical issues!

Here’s the text that was supposed to go out:

Week four has been our first FULL week of school and it was certainly full!  We started the week with our all-school assembly featuring the student council run announcements and a competition between classes!  On Tuesday, John Halligan presented about his son Ryan’s story and the gym was silent and respectful!  Thursday and Friday celebrated students who completed their summer reading books with special luncheon/sundae bar in the library.  Last night we had MS Back to School Night and the RTU event.  It was a great week to be a Rebel!

As some of you may know, we are a Title 1 school.  Title 1 is a federally funded program that supports students in schools and districts that have high poverty rates.  We use our funds to pay for our new Academic Support Teacher as well as professional development for teachers.  Part of the requirement of being a Title 1 school is the development of a Home/School Compact.  Please click on the link to see this document, which includes a signature option via a google form. We thank you for helping us agree to supporting our students - and your children - together.

This week we’ve had another full week of school and we all seem to be settling into a groove.  Fall is officially here which means some exciting upcoming events (listed below) including parent conferences!  Parent Conferences will be LIVE in person on Thursday 10/13 and via ZOOM (if you prefer that) on Friday 10/14.  Times are below, and more information will be forthcoming!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Bob Thibault

Principal
