Dear L&G Families:
Welcome to another weekend! We have reached the end of the first full month of school, and we’re solidly into fall! We had our first PBL (Project-Based Learning) session on Wednesday and it was great to see students really engaging in areas that they expressed interest in. Look for a story in the Reformer coming soon!
One final shot:
As some of you may know, we are a Title 1 school. Title 1 is a federally funded program that supports students in schools and districts that have high poverty rates. We use our funds to pay for our new Academic Support Teacher as well as professional development for teachers. Part of the requirement of being a Title 1 school is the development of a Home/School Compact. Please click on the link to see this document, which includes a signature option via a google form. We thank you for helping us agree to supporting our students - and your children - together.

Newfane Heritage Festival is looking for students who can help with various tasks before and during the weekend:
Sat, Oct 8 – Sun, Oct 9
Thursday or Friday - 3:30 - ?Saturday and Sunday - 9:30 - 4:00 - duties during festival hours
Sunday night at 4:00 especially to break things down

Are you looking for a club to join? Are you looking to volunteer locally or earn community service hours? On Wednesday, October 12th from 3:00-6:00pm at the Townshend Common, West River Valley Thrives and BSA Scout Troop 428 will be hosting an Organization Recruitment Fair event to showcase a multiple of local opportunities to volunteer, earn community service hours and/or join a club. There will be representatives from local organizations to share information and answer any questions. This event is substance free and is open to people of all ages, from all towns. Community Hope & Action Harvest Concert:
On Saturday, October 22nd from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Townshend Town Hall, Community Hope & Action will be hosting a free, ALL AGEs Harvest Music and Dessert event to celebrate the Fall. The mission of Community Hope & Actions is to instill hope by creating opportunities to support and connect everyone within our community. Bard Owl, who will be performing, is made up of Breeze Verdant on guitar, vocals and stomp box and Annie Landenberger on vocals and percussion. Bard Owl has been making music since 2016 honing sweet harmonies, driving rhythms and several Verdant originals. Desserts and beverages will be served! If you can, please bring a dessert to share.
